You’ve just given me a wonderful idea. I’m a forager, rosehips grow in my garden and in my local nature reserve and I’m confident picking them. I always make something with rosehips and something with elderberries but my elderberry harvest is really small this year just 50g so I’m going to combine the two and make an elderberry and rosehip syrup. I’ll add it to my morning yoghurt when I need an immunity boost. I usually make a jelly of each but I think this will work perfectly with my small elderberry harvest. Thank you for the inspiration!

I love the idea of solar charging. We walk every single day no matter the weather. I’m surprised how many times we’ve hit a patch of the only sunlight of the day. It makes a difference!

I love bright autumn days but do struggle with endless grey. Katherine May’s book Wintering inspired me with a new way to approach the season of shorter days and your piece has picked up perfectly on a shift in mindset which will help me on this grey day - my first back at work after a planned operation didn’t happen (again) and I’m going to make it a lovely, cosy, candlelit one. First, am getting dressed and taking a walk to the post box to get myself outside - excellent advice!

This is exactly my issue. The crisp, bright days, autumnal colours and styling opportunities excite me, but so often in the UK what we actually get is grey and rain. Getting outside and using Victoria’s idea of solar charging is key.

Dreaming of pumpkin spice chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin spice lattes. I do harvest my own rose hips, but only after the first frost when they are super packed with vit c.

Thank you so much for sharing these. 😊🍂✨ I spent some time out in the garden today, and then for tea my husband made a casserole, I also made myself a hot chocolate, and got cosy to read some of my book.

Apple and medlar picking did once in Vermont. Soon as we got a box gray clouds let loose snow flurries. Had to head down the mountain to the inn where early snow out side and warm fireside’s glow with travelers stories tipped glasses and good cheers.
