When I design my wall calendars, I make sure to add the solstices/equinoxes and phases of the moon for this very reason - to help give little reminders for people to connect with nature's cycles. Although, I'm not sure I agree with finding moonlight soothing - I often have a hard time sleeping on the full moons, despite heavy drapes to block the light. Guess I'm part fairy and feel called outside to dance under it or something. lol
Ha ha. Yes I think you must be part fairy. I agree though, It can often be a bit *too* energising at the full moon but at different times of the month it can be very soothing. Brilliant that you put the solstices / equinoxes on your calendars ☀️ ✨
I’m certainly going to take this on, not certain when as it might be quite difficult to get hold of a large Calender this year.
We are the stressful throes of selling and buying a property , and I love the property we are hoping for and it would be do nice to carry this idea to start in our new home if we are successful , so 🤞🤞for our successful purchase.
Such a simple, but oh so important post, Vicky! Wow. I absolutely love how you have gathered these simple rituals into one place. I know that I do all of these things already (except for the old school calendar - which will be adding to my life ASAP!), but having them as a little list is just magic. Thank you ever so much! ❤️
I agree with the baking/eating seasonal cake 🍰 I definitely bake more apple tarts and apple cakes around fall…crinkle cookies in the dew winter…raspberry/strawberry tarts in the spring/summer…
Love these suggestions, especially the cake! How fun! I take a 30-min walk daily and never would have imagined how connected to the seasons it would make me feel. I tend to go around sunset, which means I’m already noticing the shorter days. I notice how the sun feels and how the light looks. I see the foliage change and always anticipate the next holiday’s decorations. Modern life is so indoors that I think spending more time outside in any fashion is such an easy, simple way to attune to the seasons.
It’s all about getting outdoors! Even for a short time each day, it charges you up and, as you say, gives you a sense of change and exciting things to look forward to 🍂
It’s the little things!💕
Always! ✨

Old-school calendars are the best! Thanks for your lovely words as always ☺️
Not sure if this is what she means. There are quite a few variations. I came across a recipe for lemon ones that would taste good this time of year.
And I love your suggestions, all easy, all helpful!

This reminded me of the highlights calendar I was sometimes fortunate to receive as a gift as a child! I loved the stickers!
