Thank you for these incredibly soothing and happy rituals! I happen to live in an area with a large number of Finns, and we have a wonderful Finnish bakery - I checked and they do make strawberry cake for Midsummer - already ordered one! Thanks for the inspiration!
The magic within this post! Absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing all of these rituals and wisdom. I love June, especially the roses and the strawberries and intend to make the most of both. I hope to weave both into our solstice/full moon gathering, thank you for inspiring me further. And yes that rose-lined door, it is the stuff of dreams xx
I’m having a very strawberry summer and want to live in this post! I can’t wait to try some of the recipes you suggested (along with other June magic) 🍓
I’m a Brit living on the southern hemisphere, NZ to be precise, so we’re approaching winter solstice here 🌕 I couldn’t help reading your reflections & ideas of what you’ll be doing back home. I’ll certainly save some of these in my heart for when it’s strawberry season in our corner of the world 🍓
I have a secret wild strawberry spot, it's in a rather prettily landscaped hollow which was actually made as a runoff basin for the nearby housing estate! Nobody else seems to know about it (apart from some slugs so I have to get to them before they do) and with all the rain this year - I live in north-west France so pretty similar weather to the UK - the berries are really big and juicy. I collected enough for a decent serving with some ice cream the other day, and for good measure let them soak in some syrup I made from very pink, Turkish delight flavoured, rose petals and lemon thyme from the garden.
June for me is the last hurrah before the dreary, overcooked, sticky, bug-ridden heat of high summer, which I really don't care much for at all. The rain has gone on a bit, but rather that than drought and frankly scary heat waves, and the garden is looking amazing for it!
I let out a contented sigh reading this. How wonderful. I am definitely going to gather some herbs that evening and maybe even some roses 🌹 I think I’ve said before that summer even though it’s my birth time is not my favourite season but this made me re-appreciate June. Now time for some strawberries for breakfast!
Ah I’m so pleased! Yes I feel exactly the same way. Autumn has always been my favourite season, but writing these posts has made me re-appreciate summer too ☀️✨Enjoy your strawberry breakfast 🍓
June really does breathe romance and magic! I want to try and get to a solstice gathering this year, and maybe watch the sun rise. Thanks for the strawberry recipes - hoping to try my hand at a strawberry cake this month :)

Your solstice / full moon gathering sounds brilliant 🌹 🌝 xx
Love this Vicky! June reminds of me of that scene in Jane Austen's Emma in the strawberry fields!
🍓 💫
What a joyous magical post! The cake sounds delicious. I’m excited for June now and looks like the sun has decided to come out to play.
Knew it would eventually! ☀️ ☺️

Very happy to hear it! Enjoy ☺️ 🍓
You just succeeded in making me feel even more excited about this month - plus, I’m scratching down tons of ideas and plans in my journal!
And the jordgubbstårta?! Delicious! My mother-in-law makes an amazing one, or two, or three throughout the summer! 🍓
Amazing! Lucky you 🍓 I’m looking forward to hearing more about all the lovely Swedish summer traditions from you this summer!

Wintry Solstice wishes to you! 🍓 ❄️
Strawberries and Solstice are a winning combination. I absolutely love this warm June energy
It’s a lovely month 🍓☀️

This sounds idyllic! That syrup! Amazing 🤩 I feel the same about the summer, I really struggle with the heat so I don’t mind cool rainy days at all ✨
On solstice - I usually invite my friends on a bike ride that ends as the sun sets, to make the most of the day.
That’s a great tradition! ☀️

Ouch. I've got a chest infection. How does that happen in JUNE !!!????
Oh no! Hope you feel better soon ✨
Thank you!
