We follow a seasonal rhythm and weave in simple celebrations π We love to bake bread together, decorate our kitchen table & little seasonal nature display. Like you said, Lughnasadh is often overlooked but it's great moment to pause and appreciate the abundance of this time of year.
I made a corn dolly when I was in elementary school, but havenβt done so since. If I can find corn husks, Iβll look up a tutorial though. Last week I bought an adorable corn mama and child from a little boutique. She even has a harvest basket on her back! Iβve placed them near my fairy house on a bookshelf π
Me too! I looked up some tutorials online to make one this year but the ones I found were so complicated I ran out of time π I think Iβll look for a really simple beginnerβs level one for next year πΎ
How wonderful that August 1 is the full moon this year. Yesterday, I went into the pasture and cut wild sunflowers. I put them on my alter and will make them part of my ceremony on the first as I celebrate this season and the full moon. Thanks for this post.
Lovely post! So pleased to have found your Substack... I'm actually on the flipside and we're preparing for Imbolc, the slow awakening to longer, hopefully warmer days. π±π€π Seasons Blessings, Bron
and itβs so interesting. Iβm right at the beginning of learning about the wheel of the year but Iβm fascinated. Iβm planning to celebrate on the 1st with sone fresh bread. Thanks again for sharing what you know and your ideas π
I have my sourdough starter preparing on the counter, feeding it for a few days to get it ready for a bake!! Our Corn is NOT ready yet β so I shall offer a prayer and some magic to the Corn as it grows! Feeling to cast an honorable harvest spell with the swirlings of Abundance. Being IN the cultivation of Weaving Wisdom as a creative ecology that will nourish my Wholeness is teaching me how to willingly participate IN my NEEDS by clarifying and crafting requests within the reciprocity. What do I need? And what am I willing to GIVE within that reciprocity. The seasonal magic seems to be a guiding support for this!
Ah thatβs great - perfect timing! βΊοΈ Blackberry is the perfect flavour for this time of year.. a little bit summery and a little bit autumny. And lucky you having some late flowers to bring indoors too π«
Yes absolutely! And those rituals sound lovely ππΎπ«
