I adore all of this, thank you for sharing so much! I love the smell of this month! It’s definitely my favourite time of year to be outside, especially early in the morning! I can’t wait to take my girls Pumpkin picking and we have a local garden that always does a trail for the children which is great fun! I’m with you on the National Trust era too... I’ve had a membership for the past few years and it’s the best thing ever!!! Blessings for a beautiful October to you. Xxx

What a wonderful roundup of the season Victoria. Yes, that smell! The outdoorsy, harvest smell. We have an apple tree in our garden and a lot of them

Have fallen to the earth below. The fragrance is particular strong at dusk.

Yes, that's exactly it! Outdoorsy, harvest, apply... especially when the apples are on the ground under the tree and everything is slightly on the turn, which should be a horrible smell but it's actually really nice. Talking of October things I just read your cottagecore pumpkin post and I LOVE it, such great ideas for eco-guilt-free pumpkin decorating. Going to definitely try those... x

I’m still giggling about the swallows, it sounds like something Terry Pratchett might think up 😂

As for me, October is when my birthday is, so the first week I celebrate that; then I like to go to a “Fall Fiber Festival”. We enjoy outdoor fires, and I’m always hopeful for foggy days (they’re not nearly as common here in central Virginia). We will buy a pumpkin at some point, hand out sweets for Halloween, and I’ll get out my knitting! Come Halloween though, I admit to thinking a lot about relatives who have passed on, and appreciating the spooky things, and the dark half of the year.

Oh it really made me laugh too. The fact that it went into science books as fact! I love that people then claimed to have seen them dive to the bottom of ponds and apparently fishermen even came forward to say they had caught them on their fishing lines by mistake when fishing the lakes in autumn.

Your October plans sound lovely. I just had to google 'Fibre Festivals' as we don't have them over here - they sound fun! Happy October to you ☺️

Loved this, Victoria-- a wonderful read! Spooky season is simply the best. 🖤 I especially enjoyed what you shared about the smell, so unmistakably and quintessentially autumnal, and yet hard to describe exactly. it’s one of my favorite things about the season, too! 🍂

I love this Victoria, I was just talking about fairy toadstools today! I always love to think about fairy's dwelling in and around them. There is definitely magic in the air. I've actually got a free Autumn pass for a National Trust property in Autumn. Now it's just which lovely one to choose.

Wonderful, Victoria, thank you for all of this goodness! I didn't know about St. Luke's Little Summer. I'm excited to pay attention for that this month!
