Well I didn't know very much about pumpkins before, in fact we didn't 'do' Halloween as much as some of the other festivals in the year but I am very into Samhain now and am fully embracing Halloween magic with my children so thank you for all of these tips. Loved this and love your longer posts too xx

Pumpkins / Halloween celebrations are a recent discovery for me too! And thatโ€™s very kind re: the longer posts, thank you, especially as the next one (Halloween / Samhain) is turning into an epic post ๐Ÿ˜† itโ€™s all quite new to me and Iโ€™m finding out some really interesting stuff so itโ€™s packed full. That is so kind, thank you! My next post is actually turning out to be quite long after all, as November is packed with interesting and weird folklore and facts, so I'm reluctant to cut it down at all! That one will definitely be a long read ๐Ÿ˜ Have a lovely day

I love this so much! Pumpkins make me so happy- to look at, to grow, to eat- and it was great to learn more about the traditions around them.

We always used "neeps" as they are known here in Angus, when I was a child... pumpkins are far easier to carve!

Ooh did you? I love that! But yes, it does sound like a lot of hard work. Can see why everyone swapped them for pumpkins at the earliest chance!
